DESCRIPTION:The Toolbox Orchestra is an exotic one-in-a-million-band\, even for their notorious adopted home town Berlin: They are an all-female band and originally started out on instruments straight from the workshop like singing saw and washtub bass. Add in the zing of banjo\, guitar\, trumpet\, and clarinet\, and voila! You’ve got a sonic cocktail that’s as sprightly as it is unique\, channelling the playful spirit of early 1920s and early 30s music.\nAnd there’s more to The Toolbox Orchestra than meets the ear. They’ve shared the spotlight with Jazz New Orleans star-singer Meschiya Lake\, rocked Swing Dance Festivals from Germany to the cosmos\, and even sprinkled their magic at the Berlin Short Film Festival\, Interfilm 2020.
